STATEMENT OF SIGNIFICANCE

A late Victorian timber house with some Edwardian elements, built in 1890. It has some unusual and referential decorative details including the barges, brackets, verandah posts and chimneys. It is architecturally significant locally as an interesting late Victorian house with some stylistic pointers toward Edwardian including brackets and leadlighting. It is historically significant as physical evidence of comfortable fin de siecle life in Newtown.
