STATEMENT OF SIGNIFICANCE

Built between 1850 and 1852 it appear to have been a shop and residence for almost all of its 135 years; the original owner was John Goff. It has a high degree of integrity and it is of regional significance.

POLICY/RECOMMENDATIONS:

National Estate Register, GRPS

The degree of integrity of this building is such that only a small amount of work would be needed to restore it externally. The design of sympathetic advertising signs, the removal of the cantilever verandah and its possible replacement with a verandah of more appropriate design would enhance this building, as would the careful removal of paint from the brickwork.
