STATEMENT OF SIGNIFICANCE

The rope walk is highly significant as the longest in Victoria at the time of its construction in the 1870s. It is one pf the very few remaining rope walks and still in use with its original equipment. It is of State significant.

Other work by an industrial archeologist/historian would be needed to confirm the exact significance of this rope walk in context with other, eg. Footscray
