STATEMENT OF SIGNIFICANCE

'Somerset' at 270 Latrobe Terrace Newtown is one of several 1850s residences in the area. The history of this place remains undocumented, and the villa has been extensively altered. It is of interest for its associations with an early and elite residential area of Geelong and because of its unusual architectural form.
