A Listed - State Significance STATEMENT OF SIGNIFICANCE
Prominent Geelong and Western District architects, Davidson and Henderson, designed the original buildings of the Geelong College in 1870 in a dichromatic pattern Victorian Eclectic composition, which incorporated French Gothic, Scottish Italianate and Victorian Gothic motifs. Built for George P Morrison, the founding principal of the College, the school building is dominated by a splendid fleche tower. The original buildings, now integrate in a large college campus are a manifestation of the foundations of one of the States most prestigious public schools, the Geelong College.
