A Listed - State Significance STATEMENT OF SIGNIFICANCE The picturesque Vicotria eclectric style brick villa, 'Eyethorne', at 35 Aphrasia Street, Newtown is the finest single storey villa designed by the prolific architects, Davidson 7 Henderson. Erected in 1873, the elaborately decorated residence incorporates many innovative features including ornate timber barge boards, modelled brickwork, intricate cast iron verandah and heavily modelled plaster work. The source of the design lies in French Gothic architecture of the 13th Century. The residence was built for Robert Ferry Thwaites RECOMMENDATIONS: PROTECTIVE MEASURES
