How is it Significant?

The cottages at 121-123 Douglas Parade, Williamstown are of local historic and aesthetic significance to the City of Hobson's Bay.

Why is it Significant?

Historically, they are significant as rare surviving examples of nineteenth century shops and residences, which illustrate the early commercial development along Douglas Parade. (AHC criteria A4 and D2)

Aesthetically, although altered, they are significant as rare examples of small timber shops and residences, which retain some original detail. (AHC criteria E1 and F1)
