Statement of Significance

Algerian Oak (Quercus canariensis). Planted last century, this magnificent tree sustained storm damage about 20 years ago, rendering it pone to splitting. It was saved from slow disintegration by the installation of an extensive network of cables, which stabilise the tree's limbs.
