YAN YEAN STONE CULVERT

Location OFF ARTHURS CREEK ROAD DOREEN, WHITTLESEA CITY Level Heritage Inventory Site

Statement of Significance

Culvert built either in 1874 (associated with aqueduct) or in 1853 in association with original Melbourne water supply from Yan Yean reservoir. With construction of the Yan Yean Pipe Track, the culvert is designed to allow trapped water in paddock to drain into Plenty River. This system should be evaluated.
