Statement of Significance

This small Depot contains a number of buildings of types which were common all around Australia in military barracks and depots during WW2. The Nissen type huts (and even the gable roofed huts) have become quite rare, and it is unusual to find such a representative and well cared for group of buildings in a place, not necessarily open to the public to enter, but highly accessible for viewing. The Depot site does not have a long history as an Army Depot, but it is probably the only place in town which is representative of the Army's long association with the town.
