Statement of Significance

The cenotaph and memorial gates with the associated Aleppo Pine are socially valued (Criterion G) for the manner in which they memorialise the fallen of Glen Waverley and recall the national effort during the world wars. Their location is important in that its underscores the continuing presence of the reserved land at the former Black Flat settlement.
