Statement of Significance

The hall off the Barkly-Navarre Road Navarre has significance as a legacy of the development of the community and as a community meeting place from the interwar period (c.1920s - 1940s) period. Although altered and extended, the building has architectural interest for its remnant early features of the interwar era, and appears to be in fair to good condition. The hall at Navarre is architecturally of interest. The remnant early features including the gabled roof forms clad in red painted galvanised corrugated iron, modest eaves, galvanised iron ventilation stacks and the gable infill at the front (timber brackets, ventilator, battening and panelling). All other architectural features visible from the road represent late changes or additions.

The Hall at Navarre is historically and socially of LOCAL significance. It is associated with the development of the Navarre community from the interwar (c1920s - 1940s) period, and is recognised and valued by the community as an important meeting and recreation place.
