Statement of Significance

This site includes the memorial sports pavilion and small stone memorial gateway to the sports ground. The pavilion is a small T-shaped timber structure with an intersecting gable roof (there is a small monument in school grounds too). In 1912, the reserve was returned to the Crown (gazetted 24/9/1912). The timber grandstand was constructed in 1922 as a soldiers memorial, at a cost of £850. The gates were built to commemorate the fallen of the Second World War.
