Surviving elements of the former timber Bacchus Marsh-Gisborne Road bridge, masonry embankments of the present bridge and masonry weir over the Lerderderg River.

The site is of Iocal historical significance for its influence on the development of other places north of here. It has local architectural significance as a representative example of bridge and weir construction technology of its time.
