Statement of Significance

Angahook Homestead was built of local Barabool stone c.1862.
Classified: 05/03/1970
Destroyed by bushfire: 1983

A Bark Hut built on the property c.1863 was believed to have been the only authenticated bark clad bush timber frame structure of the mid ninteenth century until its destruction by fire on Ash Wednesday 1983. A replica has been built in its place but is not covered by this classification.
