It is associated with residential developments in Traynors Lagoon in the early 20th century, and it demonstrates original design qualities of a transitional Late Victorian and Federation style. These qualities include the hipped roof form, together with the encircling bullnosed verandah. Other intact or appropriate qualities include the symmetrical composition, single storey height, horizontal timber weatherboard wall cladding, red painted galvanised corrugated iron roof cladding, narrow eaves with paired timber brackets, painted brick chimney, turned timber verandah columns with decorative solid timber brackets, timber verandah fretwork valances, timber framed double hung windows, portal window and the central doorway.
