The former Traynors Lagoon State School No. 1832 has significance for its associations with the development of the Traynors Lagoon State School from 1937 until 1966. The building has further associations with the State School at Swanwater West, having been built there in 1926 before being relocated to Traynors Lagoon in 1937. The former Traynors Lagoon State School No. 1832 is historically and socially significant at a LOCAL level. Although the school building has been greatly altered, it still has associations with the development of the Traynors Lagoon State School from 1937 until 1966, and with the Swanwater State School from 1926 until 1937. Although now a private residence, the building and site are still recognized by some sections of the local community for its past educational associations. The plaque at the front of the property provides an important understanding of the historical and social values of the place. Overall, the former Traynors Lagoon State School No. 1832 is of LOCAL significance.
