Statement of Significance

What is significant?
How is it significant?
Why is it significant?
The building at 112-114 Main Street, Stawell, is historically and architecturally significant at a CONTRIBUTORY level. Although the main facade and shopfront have been greatly altered, the rear gabled domestic quarters with galvanised corrugated iron roof cladding, brick wall construction (including the parapeted party and end walls), side skillion verandah supported on timber columns, brick chimneys, timber framed double hung 12 paned windows and the panelled timber doors, together with the two storey parapeted brick walls of the front shop section, are those particular elements that contribute to the historical and architectural amenity of the area.
