It is associated with residential developments in St. Arnaud in the late 19th and early 20th century and demonstrates some important design qualities. These qualities include the intersecting hip roof forms, horizontal weatherboard wall cladding, early 20th century verandah addition, galvanised corrugated iron roof cladding, with retained anthemion decorations at the corners, brick chimneys, timber door with glazed side windows and the timber framed windows.
