Statement of Significance
The Marnoo East State School, 22 Baldwin Plains Road, Marnoo East has significance has an educational centre in the local community, and as an example of a Victorian Board Education School style. Established in 1890, the building appears to be in fair-good condition when viewed from a distance. The Marnoo East State School is architecturally significant at a LOCAL level. Although the building has experienced some changes, it still demonstrates original design qualities of a Victorian Board of Education style. These qualities include the plan dimensions, and the gable and skillion roof forms. Other intact or appropriate qualities include square edged weatherboard wall construction, galvanised corrugated iron roof cladding and timber casement windows.
