Statement of Significance

Of local significance as one of the few large meatworks remaining in Melbourne's western suburbs. The former Ralph's Meatworks was part of a large group of export abattoirs and freezing works located between Footscray and Brooklyn. The works were also representative of the noxious trades which were once the mainstay of the western suburbs industrial economy.
