Statement of Significance

This timber bridge is of historic and scientific significance to the Dalyenong district. The bridge is constructed on timber trestles with large square beams supporting large timber joists with squared timber decking. There is a timber handrail supported on timber posts on each side.

The bridge indicates the early settlement of land in the area for agricultural purposes. It is of importance for its potential to provide information that contributes to a greater understanding of the history of the settlement and establishment of the district, and has a strong presumption of archaeological research potential. Further historical research and archaeological investigation is recommended.
